I too am writing on a blog site at wordpress. I too want to share encouragement and inspiration from my life. I have lived enough of life to understand bittersweet, meloncholy. I know good and bad days. I have raised children, have lost those I love. Have been victorious and have been defeated. I was glad to come across your site and would love to have you visit mine. I look forward to reading more.

Hang in there! This too shall pass. You are a wonderful mother and a wonderful person. Sometimes it takes the deepest struggles to help us find our 'inner strength' again. The greatest good can come from the most miserable 'bad.' Think Gethsemane, if you know what I mean. You will make it. You are unconditionally loved. He knows your struggle better than anyone. You are never alone.
And BTW that 'chore bag' thing is brilliant! I'm gonna try it...if I can get organized enough... :)

Hey Stacey,

I stumbled across your journal while searching for the tags "love" . I found your post very touching and inspirational :) Your aunt was very wise! I've never heard that line before, but I wish we could all live by it ! There are so many times I wish my mother would have asked if I was ok rather than getting angry over a possession that had broken or almost broke. I hope you can find the strength to continue to focus on what's really important, and to embrace the gift that your boys are in your life :) They are lucky to have you as a mother!

I also think that a light shone thru anyone who watched MJ's memorial, especially when Paris got up to speak. Once she uttered those few words, it made me realize how real this all is, and how uncertain and painful life can be. That's why we have to make the most of it and appreciate who we've got, and what we've got.

anywho, thank you for your inspiring post ! stay strong & take care.

Hi, I'm like you -- trying to be real. It is not as easy as it sounds! Because we deceive ourselves so easily, I mean. But once one person pulls off the mask, it makes it easier for others to do so too. I think you might like my blogs and my daughter's too. She is linked to my blog and her name is Sailor.

Also, your "net" analogy goes with a song I added to a blogpost called Light in the Darkness.

Keep seeking Him and you will find Him.

Blessings,
Mary

Great post Stace! I suppose that people percieve it easier to talk about Charity and Christianity than to actually live it. I believe that Charity - the pure love of Christ is a state of being not an act. I have encountered many people who truly have a charitable heart - loving and accepting all they come in contact with - Desiring only to help and uplift them. Others who practice charity through acts of service and figure they have done their good deeds for the month; and many who try daily to understand charity and Christianity but have no real concept of HOW to encorporate it into thier lives.

I know we must all overcome our many shortcomings, a fact that makes me all the more grateful for the perfect example of our Savior. Bettering ourselves is obviously a life long task for each of us. Identifying our weaknesses and improving those aspects of our lives will bring us closer to our Savior and therefore refine us into the kinds of Christian's our Father wants us to be.

That is why I am grateful for my understanding of repentance. Because we are all imperfect, and we make mistakes, I believe that repentance provides that refiners fire and brings us closer to our Savior. I have felt my own burdens of sin lifted from my spirit as I approach our Father with a sorrowful heart and desire to be forgiven for my mistakes and shortcomings. This process makes me appreciate the Savior's atonement for me and renew's my desire to be a better person in every way.

Thanks for your thoughts on this subject. I know you are a bit hard on yourself - desiring to be perfect at everything - the perfect mother, the perfect student, the perfect daughter. Go easy on yourself. Take a step back and look at all the good you are accomplishing. Life is very difficult and we all need to feel loved and embraced by those around us. I wish we lived closer to eachother so we could ease our motherly burdens through our great friendship.
